2 most wanted in reg'l level nabbed in Cavite for rape of minors

CAVITE – Authorities collared two of Region IVA’s most wanted persons accused of rape of minors over the weekend.

On Saturday, Nov. 30, a joint police operation by the Kawit Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) Cavite Maritime Police Station netted alias Bernardo in Dasmariñas City.

The suspect was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant for three counts of statutory rape issued by the Regional Trial Court Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 22 in Imus City, with no bail recommended.

In Silang, meanwhile, warrant personnel of the Silang MPS apprehended alias Winrek for the crime of rape in relation to the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act on Sunday, Dec. 1.

The warrant of arrest against alias Winrek was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 20 in Northern Samar with no bail recommended.

Both suspects are now under police custody.

In a statement, Cavite Police Provincial Office Director Col. Dwight E. Alegre commended the police teams for their unwavering dedication to apprehending fugitives and ensuring justice for the victims.
