2 big-time drug pushers fall in Oriental Mindoro

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – Two alleged big-time distributors of shabu in Metro Manila were arrested in a buy-bust operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Oriental Mindoro in Barangay Dangay, Roxas town, Oriental Mindoro province, on Saturday, Nov. 30.

Billy P. Viray, PDEA-Oriental Mindoro provincial officer, identified the suspects as Josephose Pintal and Jezper Cañete.

Seized from them were 2.2 kilos of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P15.3 million.

The confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the PDEA-Mimaropa Laboratory Section for examination.

The suspects face charges under Article 2 of Republic Act No. 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspects allegedly used Mindoro as transshipment point for drug distribution in Iloilo and neighboring provinces in Western Visayas.
