A man took hostage his live-in partner and four children, including an eight-month-old baby, after a domestic dispute in Taguig on Dec. 19.
The suspect was identified as alias Raymond, 28, a construction worker.
The Taguig Police said the situation, which was reported at 7:45 a.m., escalated when Raymond became violent during an argument with his partner, demanding money for alcohol and physically assaulting her at their residence on Sta. Maria Drive in Barangay Bagumbayan.
The victims sought the help of the Barangay Bagumbayan Security Force (BSF), which informed the Taguig Police Substation 12 about the hostage situation.

Col. Joey Goforth, chief of the Taguig Police, led the negotiation with the suspect, including holding a dialogue to ensure the safety of the victims and end the situation.
Acting Deputy District Director for Operations Col. Randy Glenn Silvio also arrived at 10:57 a.m. to oversee the police operation.
At 11:50 a.m., after negotiation, Raymond was arrested by the SWAT team, and the victims were rescued unharmed.
The police will file a complaint for illegal detention, direct assault, alarm and scandals, and violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 6 (on illegal possession of bladed, pointed or blunt weapons) against the suspect, who will undergo inquest proceedings before the Taguig City Prosecutor’s Office.
The Taguig Police thanked the Barangay Bagumbayan Security Force for their action in assisting the victims and alerting the police.
Southern Police District chief Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang commended the police team for resolving the hostage situation.
