Quezon police deploy motorcycle cops

CAMP NAKAR, Lucena City, Quezon – The Quezon Police Provincial Office has intensified measures to ensure the safety of the people this holiday season.

The QPPO deployed on Wednesday, Dec. 18, motorcycle patrol and personnel on the Maharlika Highway.

THE Quezon Police Provincial Office has deployed motorcycle patrol to secure the Maharlika Highway this holiday season.

Police Col. Ruben Lacuesta, QPPO director, said more than 670 lawmen were deployed to patrol public transportation hubs, commercial establishments, and areas of convergence.

Lacuesta emphasized the importance of heightened vigilance and community collaboration during the holiday season.

"The safety and security of our ‘kababayans’ are our top priorities. With our increased deployment and the active presence of our police patrollers, we are committed to maintaining peace and order, especially along the Maharlika Highway, which serves as a critical route for travelers during this time," he said.

The motorcycle patrol is part of the "Ligtas Paskuhan 2024" program of the Philippine National Police that aims to create a safe and peaceful environment in the country during the festive season.

The QPPO urged the public to cooperate and support endeavors to ensure that the spirit of Christmas is celebrated with joy and security.

415 new police recruits

The Police Regional Office 4-A said 415 new police recruits were inducted in a ceremony in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba City, Laguna on Wednesday, Dec. 18.

PRO 4-A chief Police Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth Lucas welcome the new policemen composed of 327 men and 88 women with the rank of patrolman.

Their recruitment under the lateral attrition program was supervised by the PRO 4-A Recruitment and Selection Service and a committee led by Police Brig. Gen. Christopher M. Abecia, deputy regional director for administration as chairman.

A physical fitness test was conducted to determine their stamina and overall physical readiness, a background investigation was conducted to verify their integrity and reliability, followed by medical and psychological evaluation to confirm their physical health and mental fitness.

A panel interview was held to assess their interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to public service.

They were turned over to the Regional Training Center 4-A where they will undergo a six-month intensive Public Safety Basic Recruit Course covering law enforcement procedures, community policing, conflict resolution, and other essential skills.
