A total of P63,076,800 worth of shabu was seized on Tuesday night, December 17, following the arrest of the female foreign nationals at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during an operation conducted by government anti-narcotics authorities.
In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said that the NAIA-Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (IADITG) operatives arrested the suspects from Zambia, Southern Africa at around 10:50 p.m. at the Customs International Arrival of NAIA Terminal 3.
Anti-narcotics authorities discovered more or less 9,276 grams of shabu concealed in the luggage of the unnamed female suspects.
“Further, cellular phones, travel documents, and identification cards were also confiscated from the suspects during the operation,’’ the PDEA stated.
The arrested suspects face charges for violation of Section 4 (Importation of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act (RA) 9165 otherwise known as “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
