A man and a woman who tried to evade arrest after committing a traffic violation were collared by the Pasay City police after a movie-like chase in Pasay City on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang identified the suspects as  “Pot,” 24, and “Annie,” 26. They were arrested at around 6:20 a.m. in Barangay 76, Zone 10, after trying to escape from the authorities following a traffic violation as well as the discovery of P119,544 worth of shabu in their possession.

Yang said the suspects were onboard a Honda Civic when they committed a counter flow violation, prompting a traffic enforcer to flag the suspects. However, the two tried to escape from the enforcer.

Meanwhile, members of the Pasay City Police Substation 1 who saw the incident chased after the suspects and cornered them at the intersection of Buendia and Roxas Boulevard.

As the officers were asking for Pot's driver's license, the suspects tried to throw away a black coin purse outside their vehicle which was prevented by the police.

They discovered P119,544 worth of shabu inside the coin purse.

The suspects are now under the custody of the police.
