Man drowns on river in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY – A 35-year-old man drowned on a river in Barangay Santa Rosa, Murcia, Negros Occidental.

The victim was identified as Ronel of Barangay Santa Rosa.

Woman dies saving 2 drowning minors in Quezon beach

Ronel was last seen alive on Monday afternoon, Dec. 15, when he asked permission from his wife to swim on the river near their house.

He was reported missing after he failed to return home. A search and rescue operation was conducted until his body was found on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Police said the victim was drunk and drowned when he was swept away by the strong current.
