Veloso arrives at Jakarta airport

Mary Jane Veloso, a Filipina who had been on death row in Indonesia, on Tuesday night, Dec. 17, arrived at the Jakarta airport, where she will take her flight bound for the Philippines.

As of this writing, there are now only two hours left before Veloso leaves Indonesia as the Indonesian government also officially turned over to the Philippine government the legal custody over her.

Veloso will take a 12:50 a.m. flight bound for the Philippines at the Soekarno–Hatta International Airport. She is expected to land in Manila around 6 a.m.

Speaking with the media in a Facebook Live aired by GMA News, Veloso thanked the Philippine and Indonesian governments for working to allow her to be transferred to the Philippine prison.

"Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat…sa Pilipinas (I thank everybody and the whole Philippines," she said.

"Maraming salamat kay [Indonesian] President Prabowo [Subianto]...kay Pangulong Marcos (Thank you very much President Prabowo, President Marcos)."

She also wished that she would be granted an executive clemency by the Philippine government.

"Sana mapalaya ako... kasi wala akong kasalanan (I hope that I be free because I am innocent)," she said in an interview with GMA News.
