The Creamline Cool Smashers are ending the year with a bang by being the only undefeated team in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference.
As the league takes a holiday break, the Cool Smashers maintained their flawless record by winning all their first four matches including a tough five-set match against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles last week at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Overall, Creamline only dropped three sets in all its four matches, asserting its dominance early in this six-month long conference as it guns for an unprecedented seventh All-Filipino title and 11th overall.
That would be easier said than done.
Petro Gazz is also lording it over in the standings with five wins against a single loss to Creamline last Nov. 16. The Angels are also enjoying a four-game winning streak, including a straight-set victory over the Cignal HD Spikers over the weekend.
The HD Spikers, however, are not far behind with a 4-1 win-loss card after the Angels snapped their four-game winning streak, while the Chery Tiggo Crossovers are half a game behind with a 4-2 mark following their tough five-set victory over the Galeries Tower Highrisers last Saturday, Dec. 14.
At the middle standings are the PLDT High Speed Hitters with their 3-2 mark, followed by the Akari Chargers and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans with identical 3-3 cards. ZUS Coffee and Farm Fresh share 2-3 records at eighth to ninth places, followed by Galeries Tower and Capital1 with 1-5 and 1-4 slates, respectively.
At the bottom are the Nxled Chameleons, who have yet to barge into the winning column after stumbling in their first five assignments.
The Chameleons, though, hope to end their misfortunes when the league resumes on Saturday, Jan. 18, when they face the Farm Fresh Foxies.
