Two suspects engaged in the sale of illegal drugs were arrested on Monday, Dec. 16 in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Navotas City police.

The suspects were identified as Rong Shi, alias “William”, a Chinese national, and Rose Martinez, both residents of Subic, Zambales.
According to the police, the operation stemmed from an information provided by a confidential informant which led to the buy-bust at 6:16 a.m. along Road 10, Brgy. North Bay Boulevard North (NBBN).
Recovered from the suspects were 2.2266 kilograms of suspected shabu wrapped in four large resealable bags and two sachets as well as a thermal insulated bag, a digital weighing scale, a black car and P120,000 used as buy-bust money.
The seized illegal substance has an estimated street value of P15.14 million.
The arrested individuals are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or RA 9165. They are now under police custody, awaiting inquest proceedings.
Mayor John Rey Tiangco lauded Navoteños for their vigilance and active cooperation in the fight against the proliferation of illegal drugs in the city.
“Ang tagumpay na ito ay dahil sa suporta at malasakit ng bawat isa. Patuloy po nating bantayan ang ating komunidad at mag-report sa mga kahina-hinalang aktibidad. Sama-sama nating labanan ang droga (The success of this operation is due to everyone's support and concern to each other. Let's continue to monitor our community and report suspicious activities. Let's fight illegal drugs together),” he said.
He also encouraged Navotas City residents to report suspicious activities through the official social media platforms of the city or via the TXT JRT platform:

Last month, Navotas secured its 14th drug-cleared barangay after Brgy. San Jose received its certification from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency on November 19, 2024.
