Asia’s best developers gather at PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards 2024

Celebrating the finest places to live, work, and thrive across the region

The 19th Annual PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, held on December 13 at The Athenee Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand, celebrated the best of Asia’s real estate industry. Supported by V-ZUG Thailand, this prestigious event marked the culmination of PropertyGuru Week, showcasing the achievements of over 130 leading developers and design practices from across the region.

Zhuhai Huafa Properties Co., Ltd. of Mainland China earned the coveted title of “Best Developer” in Asia, a first for the company, underscoring the awards’ international prestige.

The Philippines emerged as a standout, taking home 12 awards—the most for any country. With wins across multiple categories, Filipino developers reinforced the country’s reputation for innovation and excellence in real estate.

As we celebrate the 19th edition of the Grand Final, we look forward to a wave of progress creating what’s next for the region’s built environment.”

Best of the best

Federal Land earned the prestigious titles of “Best Luxury Developer” and “Best Township Development” for Riverpark, while its joint venture, Federal Land NRE Global, Inc., was recognized as “Best Breakthrough Developer.”

Sunshine Fort North Bonifacio Development Corporation won “Best Retail Architectural Design” for Mitsukoshi BGC. Meanwhile, Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates claimed “Best Industrial Developer” and “Best Green Industrial Development” for Lima Estates.

RLC Residences continued to redefine urban living, bagging the “Best Lifestyle Condo Development” for The Residences at The Westin Manila. In the commercial space category, Work.able earned “Best Co-Working Space” for Robinsons Summit Center, while Robinsons Offices was recognized for “Best Office Interior Design” with GBF Center 1.

Collaboration proved powerful as SMDC and Federal Land secured “Best Ultra Luxury Condo Development” and “Best Condo Development” for the iconic The Estate Makati. Alveo Land also made its mark, receiving the “Best High-End Condo Development” award for Viento at Cerca.

“The 2024 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards series included many first-time accolades. We celebrated the strengths of emerging and established property markets, expanding to new regions and revisiting the region’s leading real estate destinations. We also honored individuals—industry legends and rising stars poised to change the game,” said Jules Kay, general manager of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards and Events. 

Henry T. Sy, Jr. was honored with the prestigious PropertyGuru Icon Award, recognizing his outstanding leadership at SM Prime Holdings and his significant contributions to the real estate industry.

“This recognition is particularly meaningful as it marks a year of incredible milestones,” Sy said during his acceptance speech. “My father, the late Henry Sy, Sr., would have turned 100 this year, and SM Development Corp. is celebrating 20 years of building communities that empower Filipinos.”

Gold standard in the region

As chairperson of the grand final, Thien Duong emphasized how PropertyGuru remains as the gold standard in the industry.  “This year’s winners across Asia Pacific have impressed the judges with their sustainable, functional masterplans and designs, spanning everything from expansive townships to livable homes and dynamic commercial spaces,” Duong said. “Excellence in property development is incessantly redefined across the region, and we’re happy to contribute to this ongoing evolution. Congratulations to the Gold Standard bearers of real estate across Asia Pacific.”

An esteemed panel of independent judges from participating markets determined this year’s winners, featuring prominent industry leaders across the region: Thien Duong, general director of GroupGSA Vietnam (Vietnam); Ajai A Kapoor, CEO of 360 Degrees – Real Estate Services (India); Cyndy Tan Jarabata, president of TAJARA Leisure and Hospitality Group Inc. (Philippines); Eddie Guillemette, CEO of Midori no Ki (Japan); Datuk Ar. Ezumi Harzani Ismail, former president of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (2020-2022) (Malaysia); Ivan Lam, executive director for International Business at Charter Keck Cramer (Australia); Ken Ip, chairman of Asia MarTech Society (Mainland China); Kristin Thorsteins, co-founder and managing partner at Portman Investment Pte Ltd (Singapore); Dr. Nirmal De Silva, director and CEO of Paramount Realty (Sri Lanka); Paul Tse, president of the board of directors at the Macao Association of Building Contractors and Developers (China – Hong Kong and Macau); Sorn Seap, president of the Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (Cambodia); Suphin Mechuchep, CEO of Sen X Group PCL (Thailand); and Vivin Harsanto, senior director and head of advisory at JLL Indonesia (Indonesia).

HLB International Real Estate Group, the official supervisor of the event, ensured a fair, transparent, and credible selection process. A global network of independent accounting firms and business advisors, HLB was also honoured as the “2024 Network of the Year.”

This year’s PropertyGuru Week featured the Asia Property Real Estate Summit, the 19th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final, as well as the inaugural awards in the Middle East and the latest editions of the awards in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, and Cambodia.
