The San Rafael, Bulacan government made a new Guinness World Record under the "Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Angels" category on Saturday, Dec. 14, at the Victory Coliseum, San Rafael Government Center.

Based on the annual celebration of the town's Angel Festival for San Rafael the Archangel, the town brought home to the historical record of 2,000 San Rafaeleños dressed as angels.
Mayor Mark Cholo Violago said the Guinness World Attempt was carried out from their desire to introduce their Patron San Rafael Archangel.
The event broke the Guinness Book record of 1,275 people wearing angel costumes in 2015 by the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation in Canada.

The Pamitan and Bairan families of Barangay Sampaloc said they were very thankful when they learned from their barangay captain that they were going to be part of the Guinness World Record event for the Largest Gathering of Angels.
"Deboto talaga kami ni San Rafael Archangel. Ipinagdarasal namin ang mga mahal namin sa buhay na may sakit. Kasama rin sa pagdarasal namin itong event. Para rin makilala ng iba ang bayan ng San Rafael. Gusto naming maipakilala sa buong mundo ang debosyon namin kay Poong Arkanghel San Rafael,” (We are devotees of San Rafael Archangel. To him we pray for our sick loved ones. We also prayed for this event and to also introduce our devotion to Archangel San Rafael to the whole world), ” they said.
Violago congratulated the San Rafaeleños for the feat and for being part of a new record in the municipality's history.
