BUTUAN CITY – The Police Regional Office-13 has deployed hundreds of personnel in the Caraga region to secure the traditional Simbang Gabi or dawn masses that started on Monday, Dec. 16.

“Our field troops are already moving to make this Yuletide season more peaceful,” PRO 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said. “Our security is already in place in all of the places of worship regionwide as directed by our PRO 13 chief.”
PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro said they are backed by force multipliers, barangay tanods, and other concerned line government agencies.
Meanwhile, 344 new police recruits, composed of 279 patrolmen and 65 patrolwomen, were sworn in at the Police Regional Training Center Caraga in Barangay Lipata, Surigao City on Dec. 10.
Nazarro administered their oath and commended them for their perseverance and determination throughout the rigorous selection process.
He reminded them of the noble purpose behind their decision to join the police and offered words of encouragement for their upcoming training.
“As you embark on this journey, I challenge each of you to embrace the next 180 days of rigorous training with courage and resilience,” he said.
“This is where you will transform – from civilians into law enforcers – embodying the virtues of service, honor, and justice,” Nazarro said. “Face every challenge, endure every hardship, and overcome every struggle, knowing that these experiences will shape you into the kind of police officer our country needs.”
