Secretary Sonny Angara of the Department of Education and Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor launched the Voter’s Education Instructional Module (VEIM) and the Career Guidance Instructional Module (CGIM) on Dec. 13.
“We want to contribute our fair share in the creation of a human resource and an electorate that is intelligent,” said Defensor on the VEIM.
“We want to be there as they choose a career and we want to teach them the direction of the country, the government, and the economy so that they become the human resource that we need and that they could have a job when they graduate,” Defensor said on the CGIM.
The two modules were created by the DepEd-Iloilo Schools Division and the University of the Philippines-Visayas.
Also present were DepEd-6 Regional Director Ramir Uytico, DepEd-Iloilo Schools Division Superintendent Ernesto Servillon Jr., Uswag Ilonggo party-list Rep. Jojo Ang, Iloilo Rep. Lorenz Defensor, Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Board Member Jason Gonzales, and several mayors.
