Tricycle driver shot dead in wake

SAN QUINTIN, Pangasinan – A tricycle driver was shot dead and a construction worker was wounded in a wake in Barangay Lagasit here on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Police identified the fatality as Diomel Hermoso Galvan, 43.

Investigation said Galvan and neighbor Junel Carmesis Guanizo, 44, were playing mahjong in the wake of a neighbor, Adelina Cabato, when a man appeared and shot them.

The gunman fled on foot  and the victims were taken to a hospital where Galvan was declared dead and Guanizo recovering.

Recovered in the area were five fired caliber .45 cartridge cases.

Police are conducting follow-up and manhunt operations.
