Over the weekend, the official trailer dropped for "Uninvited," raising excitement about one of the most awaited films in the coming 50th Metro Manila Film Festival.

The trailer (watch it here) highlights "Star for All Seasons" Vilma Santos gatecrashing a lavishly opulent party. "I knew there was a reason kung bakit kita nilapitan. Anong ginagawa mo dito, Eva?," Katrina (played by Mylene Dizon) addresses Eva  Candelaria (Vilma).

Here's some trivia and facts about "Uninvited," which gathers together for the first time Vilma, Aga Muhlach, and Nadine Lustre, all of whom are considered powerful actors in Philippine cinema for being multi-awarded box office stars.

1. The whole plot of the movie happens only in one night. Vilma recalled telling the producer, Mentorque Productions, that it has always been her dream to shoot a film where everything happens within a 24-hour frame. She credits director Max Villegas for weaving the whole storyline with the rest of the creative team.

2. Based on the trailer, the following lines are shaping up to be the quotable quotes of the movie:

"Tandaan mong mabuti ang pangalan ng taong papatay sa yo." - Eva (Vilma)

"I remember everything about you. Every (freaking) thing." Nicole/Nadine

3. "Uninvited" is Vilma's first suspense thriller after 37 years. The last one was "Tagos ng Dugo" where she played a serial killer.

4. "Uninvited" is the movie that reunites Vilma with Aga after 30 years. Their last pairing was the drama "Nag-iisang Bituin" and prior to that, "Sinungaling Mong Puso" (1992).

5. "Uninvited" is Vilma and Nadine's first movie, although they were cast together  in 2006 for a "Maalaala Mo Kaya" episode entitled "Regalo." Nadine was only 13 years old then.

6. This early, netizens are already discussing a possible sixth MMFF Best Actress win for Vilma for her portrayal of Lily/Eva Candelaria in "Uninvited.". Previously, she earned Best Actress recognition in MMFF for "Burlesk Queen" (1977), "Karma" (1981), "Imortal "(1989), "Mano Po 3" (2003) and  "When I Met You In Tokyo" (2023).

7. Reports have it that a part of the movie was inspired by a true-to-life rape-slay case that involved the late Calauan, Laguna mayor Antonio Sanchez, who was sentenced to six counts of reclusion perpetua in the 90s.

8. Nadine has said that after starring in many romantic movies, her role as Nicole is her first dark role in a suspense movie. "I made a playlist for my character just to figure out kung sino ba talaga siya, what she's all about. I'm very excited kasi first time ko magkaroon ng role na ganito na palaban," the Viva star said during the "Uninvited" grand launch in Solaire North.

9. After spending P80 million to make last year's horror film, "Mallari," Mentorque producer John Bryan Diamante admitted in interviews that "Uninvited" is equally costly. The talent fees of the lead stars, coupled with state-of-the-art shooting equipment, all added to the production cost. All this in the belief that "the Filipino audience deserves something worth their hard-earned money," Bryan stated.

10. For the second straight year, Mentorque Productions (together with co-producer Project 8 Projects) teamed up with film industry giant Warner Bros. for the theatrical distribution of "Uninvited" in MMFF 2024, which opens on Dec. 25.

The movie also stars Tirso Cruz III, Mylene Dizon, Lotlot de Leon, Elijah Canlas, Gabby Padilla, RK Bagatsing, Ketchup Eusebio, Gio Alvarez, and Ron Angeles.
