Mary Jane Veloso being transferred to Jakarta to begin PH return process—DFA

Mary Jane Veloso is being transferred to Jakarta to begin the process of his return to the Philippines.

Her transfer to the country, however, has still no definite date.

This was disclosed by the family of Veloso on Sunday, Dec. 15, following the family's sudden cancellation of their prison visit to Mary Jane in Indonesia.

According to the Velosos, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Office of the Undersecretary for Migration Affairs (OUMA) informed them on Sunday morning that the supposed visit to Mary Jane in Yogyakarta, Indonesia was cancelled.

The DFA also told the family about Veloso's transfer to Jakarta on Sunday.

"Ayon sa DFA, ngayong araw nakatakda ang pag byahe ni Mary Jane papuntang Jakarta para simulan ang proceso ng kanyang pag transfer sa Pilipinas, alinsunod sa utos ng Indonesian Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections (According to DFA, Mary Jane is set to be transferred to Jakarta today to begin the process of her transfer to the Philippines, according to the order of Indonesian Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections)," Veloso's family said in a statement.

"Ang pag uwi ni Mary Jane sa Pilipinas ay wala pang depinidong petsa (Mary Jane's return to the Philippines has no definite date yet)," they added.

While Veloso's family was saddened by the sudden cancellation of the visit, they are elated that she will soon come back home.
