SANTA MARIA, Pangasinan – A 63-year-old farmer gunned down his alleged girlfriend before shooting himself in a farm in Barangay Pilar here on Friday, Dec. 13.
Police identified the victim as Jovelyn, 43.

Investigation said the victim and her co-workers were sorting eggplants for delivery when the suspect, Danilo, arrived onboard a motorcycle.
The suspect whispered to the victim and was frustrated. Danilo grabbed a gun in his motorcycle and the victim tried to calm down the suspect down.
However, the suspect shot her in the back of the head. She died on the spot.
Danilo then shot himself once in the head and also died on the spot.
Recovered in the crime scene were a caliber 9mm pistol, two fired empty cartridges, and five bullets.
The recovered pieces of evidences were placed under the custody of the police for documentation and proper disposition.
Their bodies were taken to the Eastern Pangasinan District Hospital in Tayug, Pangasinan for medico-legal examination.
Police said Danilo and Jovelyn were allegedly in a discreet and intimate relationship for several years that caused problems with their legitimate families.
