ILOILO CITY – Western Visayas region has 360 new policemen.
Two-hundred eighty-eight are male and 72 are female.
They were among the 2,600 applicants that applied before the Philippine National Police (PNP) in a recruitment that began last October.

They are assigned to Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod.
“As they took their oath, they should remember the responsibilities of being police officers,” said Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Police Regional Office-6 chief.
“They should be teachable, grounded, and start right. These principles that can guide them in becoming effective and honorable police officers,” added Wanky.
Wanky recognized the collective efforts of the Regional Recruitment and Selection Board in the selection process for the newest members of the police in the region.
