LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera welcomed 201 newly appointed police officers composed of 161 patrolmen and 40 patrolwomen to the region on Friday, Dec. 13.
TWO-HUNDRED rookie Cordillera lawmen are sworn in on Dec. 13.
PRO-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. led the oath-taking ceremony at the Masigasig Grandstand in Camp Major Bado Dangwa here.
The event was witnessed by Editha Puddoc, regional director of the National Police Commission-Cordillera; Arlene B. Olsim, president of the PRO-CAR Officers Ladies Club; Maria Lydia Padilla, branch manager of the Landbank of the Philippines-Naguillian Branch; Benjamin Macadangdang, representative of the Regional Peace and Order Councils; Norman Barnachea, representative of the Department of the Interior and Local Government-CAR, and Soledad Benwaren, National Police Commission-CAR Baguio City Officer.
Police Col. Jefferson Cariaga, chief of the Regional Personnel and Records Management Division, read their appointment orders, followed by the oathtaking.
Certificates of Recognition were awarded to the Recruitment Screening Committee and Padilla led the ceremonial awarding of payroll Automated Teller Machine cards to the newly-minted lawmen.
Peredo stressed the profound responsibility that comes with the badge.
“As you wear your PNP uniforms, may you carry them with honor and pride. Uphold the highest standards of law enforcement and serve with integrity and dedication. Good luck in your training, and demonstrate that you embody the values and discipline of the ‘Home of the Most Disciplined Cops,’” he said.
Following the ceremony, the neophyte lawmen were officially turned over to the Police Training Center-CAR where they will undergo a rigorous six-month Public Safety Basic Recruit Course to prepare them for their future roles as capable and dedicated law enforcement officers.
