CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police apprehended a suspected drug pusher and confiscated shabu and marijuana valued at P5 million in the provinces of Benguet and Kalinga on Dec. 13.
An abandoned vehicle with 25 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves in tubular form valued at P3 million was found in Barangay Cattubo, Atok, Benguet.
An informant told police that a vehicle carrying marijuana from Madaymen, Kibungan, Benguet was on its way to Baguio City.
A checkpoint was established in Barangay Paoay, Atok to intercept the vehicle. However, the driver noticed the checkpoint and turned the vehicle around and headed towards Buguias, Benguet.
The vehicle was found abandoned in Barangay Cattubo.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
A series of eradication operations in Benguet and Kalinga resulted in the discovery of 9,700 fully grown marijuana plants, 3,350 marijuana seedlings, and 25,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks, leaves, and fruiting tops valued at P2 million.
The suspect was nabbed in Itogon, Benguet in a buy-bust operation. Recovered from him were 0.6 grams of suspected shabu worth P4,800.
