Yoon imposed martial law but lifted it six hours later on Dec. 4. Members of the opposition-controlled National Assembly will vote for Yoon’s second impeachment on Dec. 14.
The first impeachment motion failed to pass in the National Assembly due to lack of quorum on Dec. 7.
Under Korea’s Constitution, the impeachment measure must be approved by “two thirds or more of the total members of the National Assembly” or 200 of the 300 lawmakers.
“Any person against whom a motion for impeachment has been passed shall be suspended from exercising his or her power until the impeachment has been adjudicated. A decision on impeachment shall not extend further than removal from public office: Provided, That it shall not exempt the person impeached from civil or criminal liability,” the Constitution stated.
IU prepared food and drinks for her fans who will be attending the rallies.
IU's agency, EDAM Entertainment, announced on Dec. 13 that "we prepared food and hot packs in the hopes that the cold hands of UAENA (IU's fandom), who attended rallies holding I-KE (IU's cheering stick) and brightening up the surroundings in this cold weather, will be warmed up a little," Korean media reported.
IU prepared 100 pieces of bread, 100 drinks, 100 bowls of noodles and gomtang (Korean beef soup), 100 bowls of ttarogukbap (rice and soup), and 100 rice cakes.
The agency announced the names and addresses of the bakery, rice cake shop, and soup restaurant in Yeouido that IU made a prepayment for.
EDAM said, "Please be mindful of your health and safety when visiting the store. Even if you are not a UAENA member of the official fan club, if you are attending the rally, you can receive food and hot packs on a first-come, first-served basis."
Yuri is also supporting fans who will be attending the anti-Yoon rallies by preparing kimbap.
"Everyone, eat kimbap tomorrow and fill your stomachs. Be safe and healthy," Yuri posted online.
