BACOLOD CITY – A 47-year-old tricycle driver was allegedly stabbed to death by a fellow tricycle driver in Sitio Candabid, Purok 2, Barangay Tuyom, Cauayan, Negros Occidental on Thursday, Dec. 12.
Police Lt. Col. Lowell Garinganao, Cauayan town police chief, identified the victim as Ed.
Garinganao said the 37-year-old drunken suspect, armed with a knife, arrived at the house of the victim who was also intoxicated.
Police said the suspect confronted and stabbed the victim in the back.
The victim, who was also armed with a knife, retaliated and stabbed the suspect in the arm.
Ed succumbed to the stab wound and the suspect was taken to a hospital where he was arrested and recovering.
Garinganao said that homicide charges have been filed against the suspect.
Police have yet to determine the reason behind the incident.
