Reyland Torres will suit up for University of the Philippines in the do-or-die Game 3 of the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball finals set on Sunday, Dec. 15.
Torres was spared of a suspension after he was called for two unsportsmanlike fouls during Game 2, with the Fighting Maroons eventually losing the tight contest, 76-75.
The 6-foot-1 cager committed his first after a loose ball sequence that saw him make a hard contact on La Salle’s EJ Gollena at the 5:33 mark of the third quarter.
Torres was then called for another unsportsmanlike foul, which resulted in his ejection, in the payoff period with 2 minutes and 58 seconds remaining after he attempted to stop a fastbreak play of Green Archer CJ Austria.
However, due to the nature of his foul, UAAP agreed to let Torres play for UP in Game 3 – a similar decision that the league had given to Adamson ace Jhon Calisay last month.
