According to QCPD Chief Col. Melecio Buslig Jr., the effort will be supported by 2,363 force multipliers from Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) or barangay tanods, security agencies, non-government organizations (NGOs), and civilian volunteer groups.
The deployment will focus on 246 high-traffic areas across Quezon City, including places of worship, major thoroughfares, malls, and markets, bus terminals, MRT/LRT stations, as well as community firecracker zones (CFZs), and display areas (FDAs).
The QCPD aims to prevent crimes, maintain peace, and provide a secure environment for residents and visitors during the holidays.
To enhance operational efficiency, the QCPD will utilize 2,915 pieces of equipment, including motorcycles, mobile cars, personnel carriers, buses, bicycles, trucks, and ambulances.
Communication devices such as base and handheld radios, body-worn cameras, drones for aerial monitoring, and crowd dispersal management (CDM) gear will also be used.
These tools are expected to improve response time and enable effective monitoring of the season's activities.
Col. Buslig stressed the significance of increased police visibility during the festive period to deter criminal activities.
“Ang deployment na ito ay patunay ng ating dedikasyon na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng mga QCitizens at masiguro ang maayos na selebrasyon ng Kapaskuhan at Bagong Taon (This deployment is a testament to our dedication to ensuring the safety of QCitizens and maintaining order during the Christmas and New Year celebrations),” he said.
The QCPD reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace and order, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a safe and meaningful holiday season.
