Not 'My Day': Manila's most wanted nabbed after posting about his day on Facebook
Tondo, Manila's most wanted individual for illegal drugs was finally nabbed by the police after posting a "My Day" status on his Facebook account, the Manila Police District (MPD) said.
Manila Police District - 13 station commander Lt. Col. Emmanuel Gomez said the suspect was tracked by the authorities after he inadvertently posted his location on his social media.
He added that the suspect had previously eluded arrest after escaping a buy-bust operation launched against him. His other cohorts were arrested during the operation.
"Hinanap namin siya kung saan saan, may nagsabi nasa parola, nasa Tondo, may nagsasabi na umuwi na sa probinsya (We tried searching for him everywhere. There were some who said he was in Parola, others said he was in Tondo, while others said he went to the province)," Gomez said.
The 24-year-old suspect was eventually arrested while inside his hideout in Baseco.
"Baseco is a very big barangay, we have more or less mga 70,000 population dito and ang iba rito talaga na e-engage sa mga ganyang bisyo, ung mga nahuhuli namin na nagbebenta ng droga siya ung tinuturo na kinukuhanan (Baseco is a very big barangay. We have more or less 70,000 residents here and some of them are engaged in illegal activities. Those whom we have arrested for illegal drugs identified him as their source)," Gomez said.
The suspect is currently detained at the Baseco Police Station while awaiting the court's commitment order.
