Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. has reassigned 30 Revenue District Officers (RDOs) across the country as part of preparations for next year’s tax collection campaign, which aims to raise at least P3.2 trillion.
Sources revealed that additional reassignments are expected in the coming weeks based on the performance of frontline tax officials this year.
The latest reshuffle included RDOs Grace B. Sagun, from Pasig City to Mandaluyong City; Esther Rhoda C. Formoso, from Pasay City to Pasig City, Mary Ann V. Canare, from Mandaluyong City to Pasay City.
Antonio J. Mangubat Jr., from South Pampanga to Malabon-Navotas, Maranella N. German, from Iloilo City to South Pampanga, Maglangit S. Decampong, from Olongapo City to Paniqui, Tarlac, Elmer F. Carolino, from West Cavite to Boac, Marinduque.Eliseo Raul G. Bacalso, from West Batangas to West Cavite.
Aldrin A. Camba, from Laoag, Ilocos Norte to Alaminos, Pangasinan,, Paul F. Villamor, from Tandag City to Surigao City, Liza E. Tomaneng, from Surigao City to Bayugan, Agusan del Sur, Roberto F. Inocampo, from South Nueva Ecija to Las Piñas City.Agatha Kristie E. Buizon, promoted from Assistant RDO to RDO of San Nicolas, Tondo, Manila.
Lumagui has regularly implemented personnel reshuffles since being appointed to the BIR’s top post by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The goal is to ensure that qualified and high-performing officers are placed in strategic positions to maximize government revenue.
This periodic revamp reflects Lumagui's commitment to strengthening the BIR' tax collection and administration machineries and achieving it's revenue targets
"Performers are rewarded with assignments in tax-rich regions and districts, while underperformers are reassigned to less significant roles," an insider familiar with the changes said.
