The Las Piñas City government marked a historic milestone when it received its first-ever Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) during the national awarding ceremony held on Monday, Dec. 9, at the Tent City of the Manila Hotel.

Las Piñas City Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Vice-Mayor April Aguilar received the prestigious award, highlighting the city’s exceptional performance in governance and public service.

The SGLG is a recognition given to local government units that meet the Department of the Interior and Local Government's (DILG) stringent criteria for excellent governance in 10 key governance areas: financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, health, education, business-friendliness, safety and order, environmental management, tourism and culture, and youth development.

Aguilar said the achievement highlighted the collective efforts of the local government and the residents of Las Piñas.

She said the recognition also reflects the city’s commitment to delivering quality public service and in addressing the needs of its constituents.

The award is a testament to Aguilar’s leadership, her dedication to transparency, accountability, and effective governance.

The mayor said the support of the Vice Mayor April and city department heads helped the city rise as a progressive and well-managed local government unit.
