GMA Network and FPJ Productions, Inc. join forces to bring FPJ's iconic films back to television in 'FPJ sa GMA'

GMA Network and FPJ Productions, Inc. announced a momentous partnership that will bring Fernando Poe, Jr.’s (FPJ) most iconic films to television in ‘FPJ sa GMA’  this 2025.

The ‘FPJ sa GMA’ programming will feature a curated selection of FPJ's greatest box-office hits, bringing his legendary films back to television and rekindling the magic of his cinematic masterpieces. This special programming is expected to be a memorable and nostalgic experience for both longtime fans and younger audiences who may be discovering his work for the first time.

Present at the significant event were GMA Network President and Chief Executive Officer Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, and Senior Assistant Vice President for Program Management, Concepcion Agnes. 

Representing FPJ Productions Inc. were Senator Grace Poe, together with FPJ Productions Inc. President Jeffrey Stevens G. Sonora, FPJ Productions Inc. Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and Treasurer Joseph Sonora, Brian Poe Llamanzares, Atty. Eugenio 'Toto' Villareal, Atty. Conrada 'Apple' Balboa, Atty. Ma. Bernadette Vielle Perote, and Ms. Annabelle Bernardez.

During the contract signing held on Dec. 3, Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes highlighted the legacy of the one and only, “Da King,” Fernando Poe, Jr. 

“FPJ’s contributions to Philippine cinema and to the Filipino identity remain unmatched. He indeed was, and still is, The King of Philippine Movies, whose influence has been ingrained within our culture and within the hearts and minds of every Filipino,” she said.

The President of FPJ Productions Inc., Mr. Jeffrey Sonora, shared his support for the partnership, “It is an honor for us to be here with GMA right now and to be part of the family.”

Joseph Sonora, on the other hand, thanked GMA Network and expressed his gladness that FPJ films will be seen again on television, “This month marks the 20th Anniversary sa pagpanaw ni FPJ, ang nakakatuwa lang, salamat sa pagre-restore ng movies ni FPJ sa tulong ng mga kasama namin sa studio and syempre sa GMA for continuing to bring yung mga alaala o mga pelikula ni FPJ to the new generation para hindi makalimutan si FPJ.”

Sen. Grace Poe likewise spoke of her delight that classic movies of FPJ will finally air and be enjoyed again in its first home on television. “Mula sa akin at sa aming pamilya, maraming salamat sa pagpapahalaga sa alaala at sa sining ni FPJ. Noon pa man at ngayon, naipalabas ang mga gawa ni FPJ hindi lang sa sinehan kundi sa telebisyon sa pamamagitan ng FPJ sa GMA. Nais kong magpasalamat na ngayon ay mapapalabas ulit sa telebisyon. Maraming maraming salamat sa pagtanggap muli kay FPJ at bumalik dito sa kanyang tahanan.”

Finally, Mr. Gilberto Duavit, Jr., reminisced about watching FPJ’s movies, “Mula nung ako’y bata pa, isa na akong tagahanga ni FPJ, inaabangan ko rin na mapanood siya sa GMA noon. Sa mahigit dalawang dekada kong pagtatrabaho sa GMA, tinatanong ko sa sarili ko kung kailan kaya siya makakabalik. Ngayon, nung binanggit ni Annette na this is a momentous occasion, it definitely is. Karangalan namin na maging bahay muli ni FPJ ang GMA. Sa wakas, uuwi na siya sa pinanggalingan nyang tahanan sa telebisyon."

‘FPJ sa GMA’ special programming is expected to be one of the most anticipated partnerships in Philippine entertainment this 2025. Through this, GMA Network and FPJ Productions, Inc. are ensuring that the legacy of Fernando Poe, Jr. continues to inspire and entertain audiences for generations to come.
