“There is no change in leadership in the Senate. Hindi totoo ‘yan (That is not true),” Revilla said on Thursday night, Dec. 12, in Mandaue City, Cebu province.

Revilla was in Cebu together with actress Beauty Gonzales to promote the third season of their "Walang Matigas na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis" TV series.

He also said that senators are not drawn into the impeachment case filed against Vice President Sara Duterte.

In the first place, there is nothing to talk about the impeachment case against Duterte, Revilla said.

“Sa impeachment, sinabi na ng Pangulo ayaw niya ng impeachment. Wala tayong dapat pagusapan diyan (About the impeachment, the President said he is against it. We have nothing to talk about that),” said Revilla.

Considering that an impeachment is a long process, the senators are not talking about it yet, Revilla added.

“We will see. We will leave that to the Senate, to my fellow senators but as of now, wala pang ugong-ugong (There are no talks yet). Mahaba pang proseso ‘yan (It’s a long process),” the senator added.

Revilla called for prayers and reconciliation amid  tension between Vice President Duterte and President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

“What’s important, especially that Christmas is coming, families should be happy. Let’s avoid fighting,” said Revilla.

Revilla added that disagreement between the “red” and “green” will affect the nation. “When there are clashes in our country and opposing sides fight, it is the people who will be affected," he said.

He hopes that a reconciliation will come for the opposing camps. “I pray that everything will be resolved,” said Revilla, who is seeking reelection next year.
