Councilor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, chairman of the Committee on Appropriations and Finance, in a radio interview on Thursday, Dec. 12, said the 2025 budget is P800 million higher than this year’s P3.6-billion appropriation.

The budget will be sourced from tax and non-tax revenues amounting to P2,065,426,018; external sources, including the National Tax Allotment of P2,244,573,982 and other NTA shares of P81 million, totaling P2,325,573,982, and non-regular income or capital investment receipts of P9 million.

The expenditure includes P1,539,522,080 for general services, P1,769,730,970 for social services, P401,016,397 for economic services, and P689,730,553 for special purposes appropriation.

The ordinance added that in order to address the inadequate budget to achieve total garbage cleanup, Mayor Albee Benitez has requested to realign P80 million from the capital outlay and special purpose appropriations to the Environment and Sanitary Services under the City Mayor’s Office.

Benitez said that the city government has enhanced the delivery of basic services, supported business growth, and expanded job opportunities as part of their goal to become a super city.
