3 killed in Maguindanao del Sur ambush

A woman and her infant daughter and their driver were killed in an ambush Thursday in Barangay Mileb, Rajah Buayan, Maguindanao del Sur.

Police identified the victims as Harrah Jinn Utto Lumenda, her three-month-old daughter, and driver Nunokan Manalindo, all residents of Rajah Buayan.

Lumenda’s relative, Bai Kong Lumenda Utto, was injured. She was taken to a hospital.

The victims were on their way to Barangay Gaunan when they were ambushed, police said.

Lawmen are investigating family feud or rido as possible motive and pursuing several persons of interest behind the daylight attack.

The angle is being pursued despite the claim of relatives that the victims have no known enemies.

Recovered at the scene were .45 caliber pistol shells.

Rajah Buayan Mayor Bai Maruja Ampatuan Mastura said she has no idea about the motive but added that Lumenda was the wife of a security escort.

People with information on the incident were urged to cooperate with the police for the immediate resolution of the incident.
