12 pioneer WVSU College of Law graduates hurdle 2024 Bar exams


ILOILO CITY – Twelve graduates from the pioneer batch of the West Visayas State University (WVSU)-College of Law here hurdled the 2024 Bar examinations.

They are Rene Aviles Jr., Stephen S. Barredo, Alyssa Jane Diaz, Apple Joy M. Faminiano, Clyde Ben Gacayan, Mike Gabriel G. Guillem, Darryl Ben Llado, Philipp Centenni L. Ruel, Kristelle Joy S. Sarrosa, Jezner Ralph Sasi, Vanessa G. Silla, and Edson Chase H. Yap.

WVSU President Dr. Joselito Villaruz and the WVSU Law Student Council congratulated them for their achievement.

“As the first lawyers from WVSU, you have set a historic milestone and paved way for future generations,” said Villaruz. “Your hard work and dedication are truly inspiring,” added Villaruz.

“We are proud of you, our new West lawyers,” said WVSU Law Student Council.

The WVSU had a 92.31 percent passing rate in the exam conducted last September.

The WVSU is the first state university in Western Visayas region to offer law courses.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, who has roots in Iloilo City, is  a faculty member of the WVSU College of Law.
