Muntinlupa receives resiliency, Seal of Good Local Governance awards

The Muntinlupa City government was recognized in two awarding ceremonies for resiliency and Seal of Good Local Governance. 

On Dec. 10, Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon received on behalf of the city government the 2024 Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence Beyond Compliant award. 

Muntinlupa was recognized at the 24th Gawad Kalasag with the award as one of the Beyond Compliant local government units.

This was the third time that Muntinlupa received the award, given by the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and Office (LDRRMCO) on LGUs that have achieved functionality ratings of 2.5 to 3. 

“Proud tayong ibahagi na ang Muntinlupa ay naka-achieve ng 2.80 score this year!” Biazon posted on Facebook. 

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) assessed Muntinlupa based on disaster response, response capability and functionality of its operations center. 

“Dito sa Muntinlupa, patuloy nating hinihikayat ang mga communities and individuals to embrace resilience through initiatives like the Most Resilient Barangay (MRB) and Most Resilient Business Enterprise (MRBe) programs,” added Biazon. 

He cited the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management and the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (LDRRMC). 

“This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without you. Salamat din sa NDRRMC for recognizing our efforts and inspiring us to aim higher,” said Biazon. 

In addition, the Muntinlupa City government received the Seal of Good Local Governance given by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). 

Muntinlupa is one of the SGLG recipients among 1,715 assessed by the DILG. 

“Ipinakikita nito ang commitment natin to excellence in key governance areas tulad ng disaster preparedness, social protection, environmental sustainability, financial administration, and more. Bunga rin ito ng ating hard work, dedication, and collaboration ng city government, barangay officials, and the entire Muntinlupeño community,” said Biazon. 

This is the third consecutive year that Muntinlupa received the award.
