Beginning December 12, 2024, ACMobility will implement a paid charging model across Metro Manila stations, with fees set at ₱28.50 per kWh for AC charging and ₱35 per kWh for DC charging. This new fee structure, approved by the Department of Energy, aims to support the maintenance and expansion of the company’s infrastructure while ensuring reliable service.

“Introducing charging fees enables ACMobility to reinvest in our network, allowing us to maintain and expand our infrastructure while delivering a consistently high-quality service,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, Chief Executive Officer of ACMobility. "True to our commitment of providing the best value to our customers, we aim to make every charging experience as accessible, reliable, and convenient — enabling worry-free journeys across NCR and beyond.”

The fee system encourages efficient use of charging stations while supporting enhancements in customer service and technology. The EVRO app enables users to locate available stations, monitor charging sessions, and make cashless payments, improving the overall charging experience.

Nationwide expansion in focus

These initiatives align with ACMobility’s ambitious goal of installing over 250 charging points across 100 locations in the Philippines by the end of 2024. Strategic partnerships with companies like Meralco and local governments are crucial to this rollout, aimed at making EV charging accessible throughout the country.

“Every new charging station brings us closer to fulfilling our mission of advancing sustainable transportation across the country. Together, we look forward to building a cleaner and greener future for generations to come,” said Carla Buencamino, Head of Mobility Infrastructure.

ACMobility’s commitment to blending accessibility, technology, and sustainability is evident in its efforts to expand EV infrastructure while maintaining high service standards. Through partnerships and investments in advanced solutions, the company is helping to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the Philippines, contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

Speaking of expansion, ACMobility has recently opened a new EV charging hub at U.P. Town Center in Quezon City and has introduced a paid charging model to support its growing network.

The newly launched EV charging hub at U.P. Town Center, located on Katipunan Avenue, provides convenient access for students, professionals, and commuters. With prominent institutions nearby, including the University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, and Miriam College, the hub addresses the increasing demand for sustainable mobility options within a heavily traversed part of the city.

ACMobility CEO Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala and Land Transportation Office Chief, Asec. Atty. Vigor Mendoza share a light moment during the event.

“We are thrilled to deepen our commitment to sustainability by expanding our network in a pivotal location like U.P. Town Center, which serves as a bustling hub for many Filipinos – from students, professionals, and the commuting public — right at the heart of Quezon City,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility. “With the growing adoption of electric vehicles in the Philippines, we aim to make EV charging more accessible and convenient for everyone. This station is another milestone in our mission to scale the country’s charging infrastructure, helping to accelerate the transition to cleaner and greener mobility options.”

The station features six slots equipped with a 120 kW DC fast charger and four AC chargers (two at 22 kW and two at 7 kW). It is designed to accommodate a variety of EVs, from private cars to e-jeepneys and electric shuttles, reflecting the company’s inclusive approach to electrification. A mural titled “Charging Forward,” created by Professor Toym Imao and students from the University of the Philippines College of Fine Arts, serves as the hub's centerpiece, celebrating the innovation and cultural vibrancy of Katipunan Avenue.
