Woman arrested for large-scale illegal recruitment in Taguig
A woman, tagged by the police as the No. 6 most wanted person for large-scale illegal recruitment, was arrested in Taguig on Dec. 9.
The Taguig Police Warrant and Subpoena Unit arrested alias Sheryl, 43, in Barangay Ususan, Taguig.
Sheryl is facing a criminal case for large-scale illegal recruitment punishable under Republic Act 10022 (Migrant Workers and Overseas Filipinos Act of 1995).

The warrant of arrest with no recommended bail was issued by Presiding Judge Nanette Lemana of the Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 11 on Nov. 11.
Under RA 10022, "Illegal recruitment is deemed committed by a syndicate if carried out by a group of three (3) or more persons conspiring or confederating with one another. It is deemed committed in large scale if committed against three (3) or more persons individually or as a group.”
Sheryl was turned over to the custodial facility of the Taguig City Police Station.
