Sara to skip NBI probe anew, will attend thanksgiving with media instead
Vice President Sara Duterte will not attend once again the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI)'s probe into her alleged death threat against President Marcos.
Duterte said she will skip the NBI's investigation that is set on Wednesday, Dec. 10, as she will be conducting Thanksgiving activities.
Instead, she will submit an affidavit regarding her remarks against the President.
"Pagkakaintindi ko sa explanation ng mga abugado ko... ay pwede namang hindi pumunta. Pwede namang magsubmit nalang daw ng sulat or affidavit (Based on my understanding from the explanation of my lawyers, I can just not go. I can just submit a letter or an affidavit)," Duterte said in an interview with GMA Regional News.
"Pangalawa meron kaming thanksgiving na mga activities sa December 11, and pangatlo, after noong thanksgiving activities namin ay pauwi rin ako dito sa Davao City para maglibing dito ng uncle ko (Also, we will be having thanksgiving activities on Dec. 11, and after that, I will return to Davao City to attend the burial of my uncle)," she added.
Duterte first skipped the NBI probe on November 29 as she explained, through a letter, that it was already late that she learned that the scheduled House hearing she was supposed to attend was rescheduled.
In fact, the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability rescheduled the hearing on the Office of the Vice President (OVP)'s use of confidential funds to give way for the NBI investigation.
The probe came after Duterte disclosed that she already contracted someone to assassinate Marcos; his wife, Liza Araneta-Marcos; and House Speaker Martin Romualdez if she gets killed.
Despite already knowing that Duterte is demanded to appear before NBI on December 11, the OVP set a thanksgiving party for the media on the same day.
