The government has enough funds to support the families who have been evacuated due to the eruption of Mount Kanlaon, President Marcos said.

Marcos assured those who have been affected by the volcanic eruption that the government is ready to respond to the families who are currently seeking shelter away from the danger zone.
"DBM (Department of Budget and Management) has already assured me that they are ready. So, yes, we are ready to support the families who have been evacuated outside the six-kilometer danger zone," Marcos said in an interview on the sidelines of the inauguration of the North Luzon Expressway Candaba 3rd Viaduct in Bulacan on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
He said the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is already in Negros Occidental to bring relief to evacuees, which may reach 87,000 residents.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) "are continuing to monitor air quality to see if we need to do more in terms of evacuating," Marcos said in case the toxic gasses emanating from the volcano reach dangerous levels.
"So, yes, we’re ready. We know what to do and we have already started to send food packs, and we already started to send all of the things that we bring to those who are in evacuation centers," Marcos assured.
Mount Kanlaon erupted at 3:03 p.m. on Monday, De. 9, producing a voluminous plume that rapidly ascended to 3,000 meters above the summit vent and drifted west-southwest.
