Muntinlupa police operatives arrested a man after he sold a gun to an undercover cop on Dec. 9.

The suspect, identified as alias Abu, 46, was arrested by members of the Station Intelligence Section in a buy-bust operation.

The police officers, acting on information provided by a confidential informant, set up an entrapment operation at 9:10 p.m.

The informant tipped off authorities that Abu was attempting to sell a .38-caliber revolver for P2,000.

Using two P1,000 bills, an undercover officer arranged the transaction. Once the exchange took place, the suspect was immediately arrested by the police.

Police seized the gun loaded with four rounds of ammunition and the buy-bust money.

Verification by the police through the Investigation Solution Automatic Verification (ISAV) system revealed that Abu had a prior criminal record under PD 1602 (illegal gambling) on June 24, 2022.

Police said illegal possession of firearm and ammunition charges will be filed against the suspect before the Muntinlupa City Prosecutor's Office.
