DILG warns public vs illegal solicitations using Remulla's name

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) warned the public against some individuals allegedly impersonating Secretary Juanito ‘Jonvic’ Remulla to solicit contributions for certain organizations.

“Please be advised that I am not engaged, nor have I authorized any person to engage in such solicitations,’’ the DILG said.

Remulla himself urged the public not to entertain this and to immediately report to 0968-878-3561 should anyone receive such solicitation for funds requests.

Earlier, Remulla warned the DILG personnel not to receive gifts in line with the no-gift policy for government employees and officials.

The DILG added that the “department will respectfully return any gifts sent.”

In lieu of such gifts, the DILG said that those concerned “may consider making a donation to your chosen charity.’’

The DILG noted that the secretary “conveys his heartfelt appreciation for your sincerity and best wishes,” the notice further reads.’’
