Tycoon Manuel B. Villar has been named one of the Forbes Asia's 2024 Heroes of Philanthropy.

Now in its 18th edition, the Forbes Asia Heroes of Philanthropy list recognizes philanthropists in the Asia-Pacific region who have made substantial contributions across various causes.

Villar, chairman of the Villar Group of Companies, was highlighted for the commitment of his family foundation to enhancing the lives of Filipinos through education, healthcare, and social development initiatives.

Established in 1992, the Villar Family Foundation has a strong track record of providing scholarships to underprivileged students, supporting healthcare initiatives in rural areas, and advancing environmental sustainability.

Its flagship program, Villar SIPAG (Social Institute for Poverty Alleviation and Governance), has enabled thousands of Filipinos to access education and healthcare services.

The foundation's initiatives have significantly impacted the lives of many Filipinos, with its scholarship program helping thousands complete their education and its healthcare initiatives delivering essential medical care to rural communities, promoting sustainable development throughout the Philippines.
