Three WBO regional belts will be at stake in the card where elite boxers from China, South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines will see action.

The main event will see South Korea’s Jong Seon Kang (20W-1L-2D, 11KOs) try to defend his WBO Global featherweight title against former Japanese Boxing Commission (JBC) super bantamweight king Ryuto Owan (13-2, 8KOs)

Chinese fighter and PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions’  Yeerjialahasi Laayibieke (10-2, 7KOs) will be defending his WBO Oriental super featherweight  against Cebu’s Rodex Piala (10-1, 1KO) of the ARQ Boxing Stable.

In an equally intriguing fight, former world title challenger and WBO regional champion Genesis “Azukal” Servania (35-4, 16 KOs) will mark his return to the ring against China’s Aketelieti Yelejian (9-4-1, 2KOs) for the WBO Oriental lightweight title.

Dela Fuente said putting up the fight card symbolizes his passion for boxing.

“I am more known in the cockfighting community. People know me for derbies but my love for boxing runs much deeper. For me, derbies are entertainment, but boxing is pure passion,” Dela Fuente said during the card’s press launch on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Dela Fuente said his entry into professional boxing is driven by his passion to further bring Philippine boxing to greater heights.

“This sport has put our country on the map. That’s why I’m determined to contribute to its growth by organizing boxing events that showcase our local talent and bring international attention to Cebu and the Philippines,” said Dela Fuente, who was joined in the press event by Trevor Hammond, NUSTAR’s Senior Vice President for Gaming and Integrated Resort Operations, and WBO Asia Pacific Vice President Leon Panoncillo.

Dela Fuente said next year’s card will be the springboard to more bigger boxing events.

He assured that the card will not be the first and last boxing event that will be held under his promotions.

“With the support of my partner and boxing judge Edward Ligas, the WBO and NUSTAR, and the Filipino boxing community, we hope this promotion becomes a stepping stone to hosting world-class boxing events featuring world title fights in the future,” he said.
