Japan is known for technological innovations that improve people’s daily lives, from health and wellness to beauty. Its beauty products, known as J-beauty, combine the power of century-old traditions and technology to create gentle and effective products that focus on achieving long-lasting, natural beauty.

To make these beauty innovations closer to Filipinos, Watsons launched Target Pro by Watsons, an exclusive beauty brand from Japan. This product line introduced five different serums that address different skin needs. Here’s a closer look at each serum.

Boosting Serum: This serum, with a potent 10 percent Vitamin C concentrate, corrects skin complexion, lightening dark spots and hyperpigmentation for a more even and radiant glow.

Hydration Serum: Powered by hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B5, it deeply hydrates the skin, boosting moisture levels for a plump, refreshed, and supple feel.

Age Defense Serum: Enriched with Diamond Sirt and a New Capsule Wrinkle Solution, this age-defying serum reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles, enhancing skin resilience, firmness, and elasticity for a rejuvenated look.

Pore Care Intensive Serum: Formulated with minoporyl and salicylic acid, it refines skin texture, reducing blackheads, and minimizing pore visibility. Based on the study conducted by the brand, in four weeks it helps reduce blemishes for a smoother appearance.

Whitening Intensive Serum: Infused with Diamond Sirt, three types of Vitamin C, and Vitamin B3, this serum evens out skin tone while reviving natural radiance and firmness, leaving skin with a luminous complexion.

In an interview with Manila Bulletin Lifestyle, Katrine Salvador, senior brand manager at Watsons, assured everyone that the formulation of Target Pro by Watsons is effective for countries with tropical weather like the Philippines.

“They are all formulated in Japan but they also know the Philippine market, as well as the other markets where it’s present, such as Thailand and Malaysia,” she said. “It’s both very humid and similar weather to what we have in the Philippines so they made sure that the formulas are very lightweight. Even if the ingredients are potent, it’s lightweight enough that it’s not gonna get oily on your skin, you are not gonna feel it, so it’s perfect for the weather of our country as well.”

She also assured everyone that its formulation is safe for everyone, even pregnant women. The recommended age to start using any of the serums, however, is at the age of 18.

“What we recommend is that it starts at age 18 because this is also the age where they experience a lot of changes in their skin condition. So this is really the best age to start,” Katrine explained. “What’s good about Target Pro is that this really underwent a lot of testing, the same with all Watsons products they really undergo several testing to pass our QA standard so it actually passed the toxicology testing.”

Apart from serums, this brand also has different products such as body lotion, sunscreen, and freckle corrector. Target Pro by Watsons is now available in Watsons stores.
