ICC urges witnesses to come forward with information on drug war crimes
The International Criminal Court (ICC) is calling on individuals, who have knowledge about the crimes committed in the Philippines during former president Rodrigo Duterte's bloody war on drugs, to submit to them any information on the anti-drug campaign.

Through the ICC Witness Appeal on ICC's website, the Hague-based tribunal made a public notice, urging potential witnesses to share information on the alleged crimes against humanity committed in the country between Nov. 1, 2011 and March 16, 2019 in the context of the war on drugs campaign.
In its public notice the ICC said: The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is investigating crimes committed in the Philippines as part of the 'War on Drugs', between November 2011 and March 2019.
It added that the information that would be shared will be reviewed.
The notice was written both in English and Filipino. When submitting an information, potential witnesses will have also submit their contact number and email address.
Witnesses will also be asked if they are a current or former member of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI); a current or former barangay, city, or municipal officer; a current or former government official, legislator, or member of the judiciary.
The ICC would also asked whether or not the witnesses are a victim or eyewitness of a crime related to the drug war from Nov. 2011 to March 2019.
In September 2021, the Pre-Trial Chamber I authorized the prosecutor to commence an investigation of crimes related to war on drugs within the jurisdiction of the Court allegedly committed in the Philippines between November 2011 and March 2019.
