Andres Muhlach is set to headline his first lead series, an adaptation of the Wattpad series "Mutya ng Section E," written by Lala Flores, which will soon stream on Viva One.

Directed by Theodore Boborol, the same director behind the successful film "Raining in Espana," Andres will portray Mark Keifer Watson, the class president of Section E. While he is intelligent, his cleverness is often overshadowed by his bullying behavior.

During the grand media conference held at Viva Cafe on Nov. 8, Andres revealed that he is gradually learning to speak Tagalog while preparing for the series.

"Unang-una, yung Tagalog ko, inaaral ko yan araw-araw kahit sa bahay and also working with my family, then Da Pers Family. Yung mga eksena natin puro Pilipino so I really try to work on it every day,” Andres said during the media conference.

(First of all, I study Tagalog every day, even at home, and I also practice with my family and Da Pers Family. Our scenes are purely Filipino, so I try to work on them daily.)

Andres couldn't help but get excited as he showcased his funny side in the upcoming series.

"When this project was first pitched to me, and I heard about the cast, I was so excited that I couldn't hide my smile. And when Direk Ted [Theodore] spoke to me, I felt great kasi I got to work with such an amazing director and the fanbase, they just have a lot of support," Andres added.

For the first time, Andres worked without his parents and sister. He mentioned that his mom and dad gave him simple advice when he agreed to take on the project.

"The advice they gave me was more on just trusting in yourself, being confident always, and believing in yourself talaga. That’s the advice they gave me," he said.

Andres mentioned that he seldom seeks his parents' advice when it comes to his projects.

"Ako naman, I don’t ask my parents for advice all the time. They let me try to figure things out on my own and when I make mistakes, that’s when I talk to them," Andres added.

Aside from Andres, he will also be joined by Andre Yllana and Ashtine Olviga.

Also part of Section E is Charles Law as Ci-N, Frost Sandoval as David, Keagan De Jesus as Felix, Ethan David as Felix, Kurt Delos Reyes as Eman, Martin Venegas as Denzel, Nic Galvez as Kit, Daniel Ong as Mayo, AJ Ferrer as Rory, Sam Shoaf as Edrix, Michael Keith as Eren, Kyosu Guinto as Josh, Yanyan De Jesus as Drew, and Derick Ong as Blaster.
