The Kia Carnival gets an electrified twist in the form of the new Carnival Turbo Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV).

ACMobility, the distributor of Kia, combines the practicality and spaciousness of its prior Carnivals with the efficiency of hybrid technology. Previously available only with a diesel engine, the Carnival now features an advanced hybrid system designed to deliver enhanced performance, smoother driving, and impressive fuel efficiency.

As one of Kia’s longest-running nameplates in the country, the Carnival Turbo HEV variant combines the model’s trademark versatility with an electrified and premium driving experience. This hybrid model is part of Kia's ongoing electrification journey in the Philippines, following the all-electric EV6 and the larger EV9.

Refined hybrid powertrain

At the heart of the new Carnival Turbo HEV is a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with a hybrid system that delivers a combined output of 245-PS and 367-Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission, providing better fuel economy without compromising performance, making it one of the most powerful MPVs in its class. The new hybrid variant also features ventilated rear disc brakes — exclusive to the Carnival Turbo HEV — enhancing braking performance and cooling efficiency for a more stable drive.

Styling and comfort updates

Visually, the new Carnival Turbo HEV retains much of the distinctive design that the Carnival is known for, including Kia's trademark Tiger Nose Grille. However, subtle differences can be noted, such as the new four-cube LED headlights that enhance its road presence and model-specific 19-inch wheels with a matte finish for added distinction. The exterior has been optimized for efficiency with active aero flaps that adjust to improve aerodynamics. Inside, the Carnival offers what Kia describes as an “Everyday First Class” experience, featuring premium touches like a special Navy Blue and Misty Grey color scheme that adds a luxurious feel to the cabin. The vehicle comes with a 12.3-inch infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless connectivity.

Passengers will appreciate multiple charging options, including wireless charging pads and various 12-volt outlets. For added comfort during drives, the new model includes a heads-up display, a digital interior rearview mirror, and a rotary-style gear selector. Acoustic paneling has been incorporated to reduce road noise, contributing to a quieter ride, while the heated leather steering wheel enhances comfort, especially on longer trips.

Technology and safety features

The Kia Carnival Turbo HEV is equipped with various technologies aimed at enhancing both convenience and safety. The 12.3-inch infotainment system is paired with a six-speaker sound system, creating an enjoyable experience for all occupants. Kia's DriveWise safety suite offers features such as Smart Cruise Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor. In addition to advanced driver assistance systems, the Carnival Turbo HEV includes eight airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and ISOFIX anchor points for child seats, making it one of the safer options for large families.
Comfort and space

The Carnival Turbo HEV maintains the comfort and spaciousness that have made it a favorite among Filipino families. The second-row “Premium Relaxation Seats” offer ventilation and power adjustment, ensuring passengers enjoy a first-class ride—even on long journeys. Automatic climate controls and power leather seats further enhance comfort levels.
