Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin: 10 years from now
At a glance
A significant milestone for Kapamilya actors Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin, known as FranSeth, as they collaborated on their first Metro Manila Film Festival movie titled "My Future You."
In an exclusive one-on-one interview with FranSeth on Nov. 27, the two expressed their reactions upon learning they had been selected as entries for this year's Metro Manila Film Festival.
''Sumigaw po talaga ako, then tinawagan ko po yung ate ko, then binaba ko yung phone call and then sumigaw ulit ako," Francine said.
(I really screamed, then I called my sister, then I hung up the phone call and then I screamed again)
Seth mentioned that he got goosebumps when he learned they had been part of the film festival.
''Tinayuan talaga ako ng balahibo, kasi nalaman ko dahil sa kanya [Francine], sinend niya sa akin yung post ng Regal parang screenshot tapos ayun tumakbo ako sa mama ko at pinakita ko sa kanya," Seth said.
(It really gave me goosebumps when I found out through Francine. She sent me a screenshot of Regal's post, and then I ran to my mom to show her.)
In addition to their excitement, the two also shared what fans expect leading up to the highly anticipated grand parade of the stars.
"Mas pinapakilala po namin yung pelikula sa mga tao, so the fans can expect more promos, naeexcite din po kami kasi isu-surprise daw po nila kami sa magiging itsura nung float, so looking forward po kami to seeing it," Francine said.
(We are excited to introduce the movie to more people, so fans can expect additional promotions. We are also looking forward to a surprise regarding the design of the float, and we can't wait to see how it turns out)
FranSeth's upcoming film tells the story of two individuals connected by a mysterious comet and a dating app that links their timelines of 2009 and 2024. Together, they try to rewrite the past to create a brighter future, but their choices lead to unforeseen consequences.
Director Crisanto Aquino expressed his admiration for Francine and Seth's professionalism and commitment to their roles.
“From our first table read, I knew I had found my Karen and Lex. Their dedication and natural connection brought the story to life. It’s their time, and they didn’t disappoint," Director Crisanto said.
The couple's natural charm and romantic moments are sure to delight their fans while remaining true to the emotional core of the film.
Regarding the future, the two also shared their thoughts on how well they prepare for it in their personal lives.
"Siguro in my case mas pinaglalaban ko lang kung ano yung meron ako ngayon, na gusto kong bitbitin sa susunod na mga ihaharap. I think ganun ko siya gustong mangyari sa buhay ko in the future is yung ipaglaban and pahalagahan lahat ng love ko na meron ako ngayon," Francine said.
(Maybe I'm more focused on fighting for what I have now, which I want to carry with me into the future. I believe that in my life ahead, I want to fight for and appreciate all the people I love.)
"Sa aking maging wais at matalino kasi, nandito ako sa showbiz kahit papaano nakakatulong ako sa pamilya ko, at sinesafety ko lang naman is yung mga kapatid ko, yung pag-aaral nila. Mas inuuna ko sila at syempre hindi ko pinababayaan yung sarili ko, and tsaka yung blessings na natatanggap ko hanggat maari in the best way ko dapat binabahagi," Seth added.
(To be wiser and smarter, I’m in showbiz, where I can help my family and keep my siblings safe while supporting their education. I always put them first, but I also make sure not to neglect myself. I believe that the blessings I receive should be shared as best as possible for as long as possible.)
Francine and Seth were also asked to envision where they see themselves 10 years from now.
"I think for me, yes, I'll be having my own little family ten years from now, pero nasa showbiz pa rin," Francine said.
"Ako rin, feeling ko meron na rin akong kasama nun, siguro tatlo na kami nun and syempre yung pag-aartista mahal ko na yun, gusto umaarte ako and siguro 10 years from now, pang tito na yung mga role ko," Seth added.
(I also feel like I already have a partner; maybe there are three of us. Of course, I love acting and want to act. Perhaps ten years from now, I will play the role of an uncle.)
Life after acting
In addition to their successful projects, the two were asked if they were interested in producing a film in the future.
"Ako, minsan nga kapag nag-shoshoot kami nakikiusap ako sa mga director if pwede ako manood sa ginagawa nila. Minsan nakikiusap ako kung pwede ako tumulong ng konti sa shots ng camera or anything. Kahit papaano natututo ako kasi everyday ko na siyang nakikita," Seth said.
(Sometimes, during a shoot, I ask the directors if I can watch what they are doing. Occasionally, I request help with camera work or anything else. I’m learning because I observe it every day.)
As per Francine, she prefers working in front of the camera and supporting Seth.
"Ako, I don't know ehh parang mas matrabaho kasi kapag sa likod ng camera, siya [Seth] na lang director ko para mas okay," Francine said.
