Drug pusher shot dead in Escalante City


BACOLOD CITY – A suspected drug pusher was shot dead by gunmen who barged into his house in Sitio Napungalan 2, Barangay Jonobjonob, Escalante City, Negros Occidental, on Sunday, Dec. 1.

Police Lt. Suzennie Ann Legada, administrative officer of the Escalante City Police Station, identified the victim as 51-year-old Edgar, alleged No. 1 drug personality in Escalante City.

Legada said that nine suspects ransacked the victim’s house and an exchange of gunfire followed.

Police said that the victim attempted to escape but the suspects shot him. They fled on foot.

Recovered from the crime scene were guns, bullets, spent shells, spent 7.62mm cartridges, grenade, and six sachets of suspected shabu.

The firearms and the victim were subjected to ballistic examination and paraffin test, respectively.

Police said the killing could be drug-related.
