GCash races to fix glitch after users report missing money

E-wallet platform GCash has assured its customers that their accounts are safe following reports of unauthorized transactions.

"We want to reassure our customers that their accounts are safe," the e-wallet platform stated, emphasizing that the incidents are linked to an ongoing system reconciliation process.

On Saturday, Nov. 9, several GCash users reported that funds were transferred from their accounts without their consent, with some describing the experience as waking up to find their money missing.

GCash clarified that these incidents were isolated and affected only a small number of users due to errors identified during the reconciliation process. 

The company said it already contacted those affected and is implementing wallet adjustments to rectify the issue.
