DOLE to hold job fair for displaced POGO workers on Nov. 19-20

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will hold a special job fair for displaced Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) workers from Nov. 19 to 20 at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.

In a social media post, DOLE announced that the event, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days, aims to assist POGO workers at risk of losing employment due to the government’s Dec. 31 mandate to shut down all POGO operations.

This job fair follows DOLE’s previous initiatives in October at Parañaque and Makati, where 108 employers offered 13,744 job openings for displaced POGO workers.

Despite 340 individuals registering, only 33 secured on-the-spot employment, underscoring the ongoing need for targeted support as the December closure deadline nears.

DOLE encourages interested POGO workers to pre-register via an online link and bring essential documents, including resumes, to the event.

This initiative is part of DOLE’s commitment to assisting approximately 79,735 affected workers, both Filipinos and foreign nationals, in accordance with the president’s directive for targeted employment support.
